European Research Infrastructure for Heritage Science
Implementation Phase
Acronym: E-RIHS IP
Description
The E-RIHS IP project (European Research Infrastructure for Heritage Science Implementation Phase) aims to prepare policies, strategies, and procedures for the operation of E-RIHS as an ERIC (European Research Infrastructure Consortium), an international organization with fourteen potential founding members, including EU and non-EU states, and ICCROM.
With the establishment of the ERIC, E-RIHS will solidify its distributed research infrastructure, bringing together European and international excellence to enhance the knowledge, intervention, and appreciation of cultural heritage. Access to state-of-the-art mobile (MOLAB) and fixed (FIXLAB) laboratories, as well as physical (ARCHLAB) and digital (DIGILAB under development) archives, along with the promotion of interdisciplinary research and advanced training for students and professionals in the public and private sectors, will be part of E-RIHS ERIC’s mission.
E-RIHS was included in the 2016 ESFRI Roadmap (European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures for Heritage Science), and the E-RIHS IP project will enable E-RIHS to consolidate its position as a leading research infrastructure in the field of heritage science at the European and global levels.
