Etruscologist. His research is focused on funerary archaeology and sanctuary contexts, with particular regard to the pre-Roman phases of Latium and Etruria.
Scientific director of the CNR mission at the Manganello sanctuary in Cerveteri and responsible for the investigations at the Banditaccia necropolis on behalf of ISPC - within the framework of the agreement with the Parco Archeologico di Cerveteri e Tarquinia (Italy).
As scientific director of “Scenari nuovi per borgo e territorio antichi. Una comunità immagina il suo futuro: Grotte di Castro” project he leads “L’acqua e gli Etruschi” annual conference. Editor in chief of the “Fonti etrusche. Storia, archeologia, paesaggio” series.
He also deals with scientific publishing (DSU-CNR Editorial Committee member) and research ethics in the field of Cultural Heritage on behalf of the CNR CID Ethics (co-director of the "Ethics and Cultural Heritage" series.)
